As a former NYC apartment-dweller, I have a great appreciation for well-designed small spaces.  I ran across a post entitled “Thriving in Student and Studio Housing” over on Houzz by Margaret from bonbon living and thought I’d share it with you!:



With some forethought and attention to detail and household management, even the smallest and most temporary of dwellings can become a favorite memory. Home is where the heart is? Yes, cliche. Yes, it is the aesthetic attention we give that makes it our own, that puts our beating heart into the sheets and towels and couches and book collection. We can infuse life and love into even the smallest spaces. Here are more ideas how:



  • Incorporate fruit and flowers

  • Downsize the essentials

  • Creates continuity with your media

  • Carve out your workspace

  • Replaces with curtains

  • Make your furniture do double duty

My friends sure know their biz! Great read for anyone who's downsizing and trying to live a more enriching life with less. High Style doesn't have to be high maintenance... this is also a great forum to reach out to friends and other professionals for design consultation on your own projects... don't be shy!
